ISC Announces ReBranded Healthcare Transparency Website for Florida

Today, ISC and the Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration announced the availability of the FloridaHealthFinder.gov website. According to Mark Alexander, President of ISC, "FloridaCompareCare.gov has now been re-branded as FloridaHealthFinder.gov. Visitors will find the new website to be a major improvement. A lot of the information and resources that the State of Florida previously offered on a variety of websites has been consolidated and is now offered on one website." These websites currently provide information to approximately 125,000 visitors each month.

The previous website, FloridaCompareCare.gov, received national media attention and has been known as a leader in government sponsored health care transparency efforts. Former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives and founder of the Center for Health Transformation Newt Gingrich said "FloridaCompareCare.gov is the Florida website that is proving itself of significant value to patients and potential patients. This very user-friendly site allows visitors to search for a wide range of price and outcome data for all hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers in the state."

Visitors to FloridaHealthFinder.gov are able to compare quality of care indicators and outcomes for Florida health care facilities, get information about medical conditions using a newly integrated Health Encyclopedia, get important information about emergency department care, and compare health plan coverage from providers to Florida residents. The site also offers resources for health care researchers and professionals.

"AHCA continues to develop valuable new informational tools for consumers, making our site a one-stop-shop for Florida's health care needs," said Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Secretary Andrew Agwunobi. "By giving consumers the tools to access useful health information, we are helping to improve care and reduce health costs."

ISC developed, hosts, operates and maintains the website. "Our partners in this collaborative project have done everything to make the website a success." indicated Mark Alexander. "Together with our partners, we are now offering health care transparency solutions to other state governments that plan to join the national movement." Treo Solutions provides specialized health care data processing services and domain expertise, 3M Health Information Systems provides their APR DRG classification system and software, A.D.A.M. provides the Health Encyclopedia content, and White Dog Design Group provides web site design services.
