Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, TX. Swisslog's TransCar Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) safely, accurately and continuously transport a variety of bulk materials throughout the hospital using a revolutionary contour-following laser guidance system. With the ability to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, TransCar gives hospitals more flexibility on when things can be delivered and provides more timely deliveries, improving turnaround times.
Each TransCar AGV can carry up to 1,000 pounds, but the larger vehicles are primarily used to transport meal trays, laundry and bio-hazard waste. Lighter loads for TransCar include delivering on-demand surgical cases or bulk pharmaceuticals. In addition, every TransCar AGV system comes complete with software that allows anyone in the hospital with access to a computer to request and track individual AGVs, ensuring maximum safety, flexibility and cost efficiency.
In addition to the TransCar AGV system, Swisslog offers the TransLogic pneumatic tube system (PTS) for fast and secure on-demand light material transport and the PillPick and BoxPicker for hospitals pharmacies. The PillPick automated drug management system, which provides a comprehensive approach from unit-dose packaging through medication dispensing. BoxPicker is an efficient, space-saving, modular, and expandable pharmacy storage and dispensing solution.
