This work was licensed by Cielo MedSolutions and was the basis for Cielo Clinic, which has defined a new area of healthcare technology know as clinical quality management systems (CQMS). Cielo Clinic has since grown to encompass a wide range of clinical functionality and supports quality improvement initiatives such as the patient-centered medical home and pay-for-performance.
"It's an honor to be recognized by Crain's, especially for innovation of our work," said Dr. Nease. "We developed the system to address the real problems we encountered every day. But these are problems every practice experiences. By making our solution available to the public, we hope to help other doctors significantly improve the quality of care they provide."
Each year, Crain's Detroit Business recognizes the region's most significant contributions to the healthcare industry by presenting its Health Care Heroes awards. Focusing on innovation and advocacy, award recipients are selected from more than 100 contenders, who are individually nominated by their peers.
