May 26, 2005 -- The Catalyst Information Systems, Ltd. family of HIPAA compliant applications for the medical transcription field has a new member. The CPR Transcription Manager has been
added to provide a manual solution for dictation routing, as well as support for edit/check quality assurance of transcription text documents prior to return to the originating
provider.
Flexible Dictation Routing
The new CPR Transcription Manager allows the manager of a medical transcription service to select dictations to be "pushed" to a specific transcriptionist. This, in conjunction with the
existing "dictation pull" mechanism, provides a complete solution for dictation routing. The "dictation pull" mechanism in the CPR Satellite Transcribe applications provides the
capability for a trusted transcriptionist to pull dictations on their own for transcription. For transcriptionist that require more supervision, or for a transcription service manager
that requires more control, CPR Transcription Manager allows a centralized manager to manually select dictations to be "pushed" to a specific transcriptionist.
Flexible Text Document Distribution
The CPR system provides the flexibility to customize how transcription text documents are distributed as they make their way from their point of creation at CPR Satellite Transcribe back
to their originating provider. The system can be set up so that transcription text documents for providers that have special requirements can be routed for quality assurance (QA) prior to
being sent to their originating provider. Once the text documents are marked as checked in the QA process the CPR system queues them for pickup by their originating provider. For
providers that might not have the requirements for QA the transcription text documents can be routed directly to the associated provider.
Quality Assurance for Text Documents
CPR Transcription Manager provides the necessary support for the QA process. The original dictation and the transcription text document are available during the process to provide a
manager the necessary environment for error checking and correction. Unchecked text documents are retrieved from the CPR Server along with their associated dictation. The QA process opens
the dictation in a floating window, and the transcription text document in its native word processor application. Playback can be controlled using the window items in the tool window
(buttons for play, rewind, fast forward, etc.) as well as by an optional footpedal. Changes are made to the text document as necessary and the document is then saved back into the CPR
database and either distributed from the CPR Transcription Manager or returned to the CPR Server for automatic distribution.
System or Solution Your Choice.
The CPR family of applications provide a HIPAA compliant solution for your dictation/transcription needs. They are available as either a service or a system. If you are a small
transcription service and don't want to have to think about a HIPAA compliant solution then the Catalyst Dictation ASP (application service provider) is the way to go. Your doctors use
our toll-free number to submit their dictations. Your transcriptionists receive a copy of the CPR Satellite Transcribe application. Our system is then setup to meet your requirements. All
of the applications are HIPAA compliant and all infrastructure is maintained by Catalyst. If you have an existing infrastructure (phones, networks, etc.) the CPR Applications can be
purchased to provide a HIPAA compliant solution on your existing network. Either way. We have the solution for you.
