Pro Mujer Launches Pro Mujer UK as it Seeks New Partners to CombatPoverty...

Pro Mujer (https://promujer.org), a leading microfinance organization operating in Latin America for nearly 20 years, is now registered as a UK charity, an important first step toward securing new support from UK philanthropists and corporations. Donations made to Pro Mujer UK, as the local chapter is known, will support the provision of credit (https://promujer.org/financialservices), healthcare (https://promujer.org/healthcare), and business training (https://promujer.org/businesstraining) to poor women in Latin America.

Lynne Patterson, Co-Founder and Director of Pro Mujer, said: Pro Mujer is an international organization that merits global support. We know there are many people in the UK who are eager to improve the lives of women and their children in Latin America.

Maria Richter, a UK resident who is Board Chair of Pro Mujer UK, said: We expect many opportunities to garner support in the UK because there is a growing awareness of microfinance and the power it has to transform lives.

Pro Mujer UK is one of the recipients of a grant from the Coutts Microfinance Pilot Donor Advised Fund. This fund was launched in September 2008 as a part of Coutts Philanthropy Advisory Services.

Pro Mujer UK has also received support from Anglo American Group Foundation to help poor women entrepreneurs in Peru.
