UK Mums and Kids Set To Hit The Transfer Market
Mums, dads and even small children are getting hooked on creating instant 'artistic masterpieces' that will last for generations.
The cutting edge image transfer kit is billed as 'a liquid emulsion for the digital age' and enables families to transfer favourite portraits and other images onto a wide range of surfaces including; glass, stone, wooden boxes and furniture - and there's not a computer in sight.
Explains Rod Bates, sales director at Somerset-based Firstcall Photographic Ltd who are importing the Canadian-made Tilano Decorative Image Transfer Kit: "We first saw this head-turning product at a big trade show in Las Vegas and we were completely enthralled by it.
This simple low-tech kit enables every family in the country to create unique picture masterpieces on most surfaces. Mums can transfer their favourite images onto tiles, vases and even candles. And kids are decorating skateboards, gift boxes and other toys in the same way.
Seven hundred years ago master painter Pietro Cavallini was producing stunning fresco paintings in Rome chapels - but in 2008 we just need a laser printer and a small child."
He adds: "It's a painless three step process; brush on, stick down and peel off. That's it. The system uses laser printed images and there are no messy inks involved. You don't need a computer or even a digital camera - just get laser copied pictures run off at your local copy shop if you don't have a printer at home."
The Tilano Fresco Transfer Kit, which retails for 12.99, contains three sheets of photo paper (21 x 28cm), the trademarked unique Tilano medium, a foam brush, a spreader, cheese cloth and sand paper.
Randy Orr, co-owner of Tilano Decorative Products, adds: "Our kits enable customers to create original artworks easily - even if they have absolutely no artistic ability whatsoever."
