Poggenpohl Launches TrendSetting +Integration Concept in the US
May 20, 2005 -- Poggenpohl transforms the kitchen into a multifunctional, multimedia space with the launch of +INTEGRATION, an award-winning kitchen design that makes its debut at the Kitchen/Bath Industry Show & Conference in Las Vegas, May 10-12, 2005. Introduced at Eurocucina, part of the Milan Furniture Fair, last spring, +INTEGRATION is now available in the United States.
+INTEGRATION features four design themes all based on the premise of contrasting elements and high-tech elegance:
-Innovative Front Design - Mirror-like, high-gloss acrylics like Parapan are combined with exotic wood veneers with interesting grain patterns, such as Swiss pear wood, zebrano and walnut for a contrast in harmony. Modern matte aluminum surfaces are added to the material mix;
-The Future of Architecture - Wall units that appear to vanish into the wall, ideal for concealment and extra storage space, shows the connection between architecture and interior design. The glass backsplash features an LED light that changes automatically with different color patterns or consumers can choose a color to display based on their mood;
-Entertainment Tonight - A built-in entertainment center for the kitchen complete with a wide-screen television allows for social enjoyment and combines living room appeal with kitchen functionality;
-Multimedia Network - Home technology arrives in the kitchen to keep the busiest family organized in seconds. A simple touch screen computer allows you to control every technical function in the house, such as lighting, heat and air conditioning, alarm system, appliances, telephone, email, DVD player, intercom system and more.
+INTEGRATION won the coveted 2004 Good Design award from the prestigious Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design. Founded in 1950, Good Design is the world's oldest competition for innovative new product design. This is the second time Poggenpohl has received the Good Design award. Poggenpohl's +SEGMENTO product previously won the award in 2000.
+INTEGRATION also won the Interior Innovation award at the International Furniture Fair in Cologne in January 2005. The prominent award recognizes outstanding achievements in the furniture category, including design, technology, creative use of new materials and outstanding product concepts.
"We are introducing +INTEGRATION as part of Poggenpohl's 30th anniversary celebration in the United States," said Poggenpohl U.S. President Lothar Birkenfeld. "The kitchen is evolving into a multifunctional room that includes everything from dining and entertaining to working and relaxing which responds to the growing consumer demand of this trend."
Poggenpohl has the highest brand awareness, at 50%, among all kitchen cabinet brands, according to The 2004 National Kitchen Survey, conducted by Architectural Digest magazine.
