MAAX Steps Up Its Presence in Asia

MAAX, a leading North American manufacturer of quality kitchen, bathroom and spa products, has been selected to equip bathrooms for the prestigious "Uptown Crown" project by Zheng Quintian in Taipei, Taiwan.

The 110 unit project, which owes its name to the enormous crown to adorn its roof, was designed by renowned Austrian architect Hans Hollein, and its units will start at $2 million U.S. Many manufacturers were on the list for the contract, and MAAX demonstrated its know-how in quality and design.

The promoter selected products from the Urban series. Introduced with much fanfare last year, this series stands apart with its clean, minimalist style combined with comfort and luxury. The Urban series redefines the art of creating a space where pure lines and shapes soothe the senses and delight the eye. With little extras like a waterfall and a revolutionary filling method, the Urban breathes inspiration into everyday living.

"This contract attests to the confidence of Zheng Qintian and their design group. What they found in MAAX is unique-and that's what large, high-end developers are looking for. MAAX's style and innovation are now a starting point for large hotel and condo projects. After New York, Las Vegas, and Miami, we are now becoming increasingly active in Asia," said Pat Hnaire, Corporate Vice President, Marketing and Sales.

MAAX has already undertaken a number of large scale projects outside North America, notably Seoul, Korea, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is also negotiating further projects in Southeast Asia.
