Knoend (http://www.knoend.com) adds to their lineup of eco-friendly goods with two new debuts this May. The Bean Rocker series is an exploration in dynamic and flexible ways of inhabiting our spaces. The rocking seats are adaptable to many body types and shapes with four models including a model specifically made for mom-to-bes (the Sprout Rocker). Knoend worked with designer Ahmed Khouja to produce the Bean Rockers using sustainable materials. The bean rockers come flat-packed or assembled (for a fee), are made with FSC certified maple plywood finished with natural linseed oil, standard steel hardware, and each comes with a padded cushion. Colors and patterns of textiles depend upon availability.
The Cit Table series is a line of multiconfiguration tables that comes in three (or more) set ups. The concept is to create versatile furniture pieces that can easily change with mood or
function desired. Like simple puzzles, these tables offer flexibility and interactivity. The Cit Tables will be available in FSC-certified wood or other sustainable board material and
produced by OrganoTM Natural Furnishings.
The bean rockers and cit tables are scheduled to debut during the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (http://icff.com) in New York May 17-20, 2008.
Design companies and independent designers from all over the world congregate in New York City during ICFF to show off their newest designs for the year. Knoend's products will be on view
at booth #2338 at the Javitz Center.
Knoend will also be concurrently holding a special ecodesign installation "Playspace" (http://www.knoend.com/playspace) at the Karin Kohlberg
located at 3 West 30th Street #4 in Manhattan. Gallery hours are from 11 a.m.-6 p.m., May 17-20. An opening Tea Party will be held, May 16 at 7 p.m.
