"The Fiesta de Mayo event allows us to expose kids to Latin American cultures through our unique program and get them excited about growing up global," says Jabber founder Rob Anderson. "Much of the research has shown that kids who take foreign language classes score better on standardized tests, are more culturally aware and resistant to stereotyping as they grow older, and have a better command of vocabulary in their primary language - all points of interest for parents today."
Their latest location in Ashburn has really struck a chord with local parents. "We've seen a great response from families in Loudoun County," says Shelley Whiddon, co-founder. "This year, we are hosting several free cultural events - like Fiesta de Mayo - as our way of giving back to the community while promoting our mission of global citizenship through language and cultural education."
