Summer learning loss is the loss in academic skills and learning over the summer vacation. As we enter the second summer month of July, a lot of students across the United States and Canada would have already forgotten significant portions of their learning acquired during the last academic year. Summer learning loss across all subjects is estimated to be about 1 month equivalency but considered much higher for Math and Reading. An average student loses over 2.6 months of Mathematics grade-level equivalent over the summer (Cooper et al 1996). The primary reason attributed to Summer Learning Loss is the lack of learning opportunities, particularly outside the big cities. Sam Voore, President, Learning Scholars - North American Operations adds, "Our goal is to provide easy access to High Quality Education at all times in all locations. Currently we have enrolled students spread all the way from White Horse, Yukon Province in Canada to Norman, Oklahoma in the United States. This truly validates our vision"
Learning Scholars has a student centric, one-on-one, live, highly organized and systematic program that has consistently delivered excellent results across the student community in the United States and Canada. Rave reviews from satisfied and enthusiastic parents and students validate the effectiveness of the program. Mrs. Marsha Covington of California has this to say about the program, "Not only did my daughter's grades improve significantly over the year but she eagerly looks forward to her sessions with the Online Math and English Tutors from Learning Scholars. Ms. Blessy and Mr. Sanal have been a wonderful positive influence on my daughter".
Vish Arangath, CEO of Learning Scholars says, "Our summer program in 2007 was a remarkable success and parents tell us that the program is unsurpassed in terms of combining high quality, convenience and affordability. Our experience is that virtually all of the students who experience the Learning Scholars tutoring program in the summer choose to continue with us throughout the school year. This is a testimony to the exceptional quality of our teachers and we hope to continue to earn the trust of our parents and students. We look forward to an exciting summer at Learning Scholars."
