New EMail Based Notification System to Send Public Safety Alerts for the Fife Police Department

The Fife Police department recently joined a nationwide e-mail notification program called Crimeweb.Net. The department has already used it to send out registered sex offender notifications and will continue to use it to disseminate crimes and public safety related information to the community.

Citizens sign up for free at www.crimeweb.net in order to receive alerts. Once police officers enter information into the CrimeWeb system, it is automatically distributed to individuals who opted to receive alerts.

CrimeWeb.Net is a uniquely designed web-based clearinghouse which allows information collected by law enforcement agencies to be quickly distributed to citizens, the media, and organizations. Fife police officers will be able to send to subscribers; Missing Child/Adult Alerts, Major Crime Alerts, Homeland Security Alerts, School Information, and Community Information Alerts. With the advanced technology of the CrimeWeb system police officers can now send hundreds, or even thousands of email and/or text messages, complete with event-specific details or potentially life-saving instruction.
