With a variety of wraps and slings available, It's You and Me Baby centers on the principle of keeping infants close. "It's creating bonds the natural way," says Elizabeth, who chooses the items on her store with great care. "I think there's a bond that every parent has with their child, obviously, but there are definitely things that can augment that bond and help you feel like you're meeting your children's needs on every level -- emotionally and physically. I was really looking for a niche to help support those goals."
Elizabeth has also begun a blog at www.ItsYouAndMeBaby.net, sharing information on bonding exercises such as infant massage and allowing her customers to share their own experiences. "I want to provide information and tips on ways to play with, interact with, and bond with a child, especially a young child or infant," she explains. "I find that mothers like to share their experiences; it's kind of a support system for moms. That's how I'd like to use my blog; for women to feel like they can take something from someone else's idea or add their own ideas. Motherhood is this incredible experience, and you end up sharing so much as a mother with other mothers. I think it helps everybody -- the child and the mother -- to know that they're going through something identical to someone else, and to see how that other person has managed it."
In addition to helping mothers, Elizabeth is also dedicated to helping others. "Giving back has always been the desire of my heart," she says. "That's why I have a charity portion of my web site. What I plan to do is give ten percent of my profits to charity -- I even added a place on my web site where people could add their favorite charities. Giving back is a strong desire of mine, and I'd like to do that through the things I've learned as a mother."
