Special Cinco de Mayo Canine Celebration to Benefit The Humane Association...



DogGeek.com the dog sitter and other dog information site, proudly sponsors the Fiesta Pet Photo Booth at Bark in the Park 2007 on Saturday, May 5 from 1 - 5 p.m. at Wilson Bank & Trust, located on West Main Street in Lebanon. This special Cinco de Mayo celebration is an afternoon of family fun, including the family dog. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children 12 and under. The first 500 dogs will receive a complimentary FOX 17 bandana. Proceeds benefit the homeless pets at The Humane Association of Wilson County.







Bark in the Park hosts over 40 vendors and special booths. Bring out your dog'ss inner Pawcassso with a paw-print portrait and remember the day'ss fun in pictures at the DogGeek.com sponsored Fiesta Pet Photo Booth, with proceeds benefiting the Humane Association of Wilson County. Micro chipping, permanent identification for your best friend, will be available at The Spay Station for only $20. Doggie nail trims will be available at the Ask the Vet booth and temporary pet themed tattoos and an inflatable are great fun for the kids.



The Tennessee Emergency Rescue and Recovery Association will be conducting Search and Rescue evaluations throughout the event to see if your dog has the right stuff to be a search and rescue K9. If your pup is really up to the challenge, enter them in a contest for Cutest Canine in the puppy or adult division, Best-dressed Dog, or Best Dog Trick. Your dog could have what it takes to place in the top three and win great prizes!



It'ss an afternoon that celebrates our canine companions while helping the homeless pets at the shelter, said Sheri McCamish, one of the event'ss coordinators. Grab your best friend and join us!



Bark in the Park isn'st just a fiesta for our furry friends! Pet owners have the chance to bid on incredible items at the silent auction, including: an autographed Charlie Daniels fiddle with case and certificate of authenticity, Tennessee Titans 4 pack of tickets to see the pre-season opener vs. the Washington Redskins at LP Field on August 11th, flight lessons at the Lebanon Airport from Middle Tennessee Aviation, a family four pack to Nashville Shores, an overnight stay at The Hermitage Hotel with breakfast for two, a Nashville Zoo membership gift basket, a log doghouse from Old Timer Log Homes, gorgeous handmade dog and cat lap quilts and a variety of restaurant gift certificates, jewelry, electronics, boarding and grooming gift certificates and much more!

The Humane Association of Wilson County is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the welfare of companion animals in our community through shelter care placement spay neuter, education and awareness.



In 2006, HAWC found homes for over 1400 pets. The Spay Station has performed over 30,000 spay/neuter surgeries to date and Snip & Tip, HAWC'ss feral cat trap/neuter/return program, has sterilized over 2,800 felines since its inception. We currently provide 366 elementary school classrooms in Wilson County with a humane education program called Kind News.
