Dr. Polderman is Vice Chairman in the Department of Intensive Care at the University Medical Center Utrecht in the Netherlands. He holds many academic and research positions. He is both a
member of the Neurotrauma and Emergency Medicine Sub-committee of the European Society for Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM), and the advisory board of the journal Intensive Care Medicine.
Further, he is a member of the international steering group of the Northern Hypothermia Network. He has published extensively in the field of emergency and intensive care medicine, and
