Southern Vision Systems, Inc. (SVSi) today announced immediate availability of the voLANte's8482; digital media distribution system at the Everything Channel XChange Tech Innovators event in San Jose, California. The voLANte digital media distribution system transmits high-bandwidth, high-definition (HD) digital video streams over IT networks using common Ethernet protocol. The voLANte system is ideal for digital signage installations where data and digital video must share the same network. Video integrity is maintained through a proprietary algorithm which results in visually loss-less video quality - even for multiple independent HD video streams. Local area networks can now be used to distribute HD content to any number of displays over any distance.
High Definition Video and Stereo Audio Co-exists with Data
Everything is moving to the network and now, with the voLANte system, even streaming video can co-exist with data and voice, says Andy Whitehead, president of SVSi. With the introduction
of voLANte, IT integrators can offer a compelling competitive advantage to their customers in education, government, retail, and houses of worship through digital signage installations.
Through voLANte Conductor management software, integrators can adjust packet transport settings to optimize integration with existing data networks. High-resolution HD video or computer
graphics is transmitted point-to-point or point-to-multipoint over gigabit Ethernet network appliances.
The voLANte Digital Media Distribution System
voLANte, an acronym for Video Over LAN Technology, offers broadcast-quality HD video and stereo audio over Ethernet. The voLANte digital media distribution system offers simple
integration with existing network hardware, delivers synchronized digital video and audio to an unlimited number of HD displays over unlimited distances, and is easily expandable.
Multiple streams of high-resolution, high-definition digital content can be narrowcast point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, or daisy-chained for professional audio/visual applications. A
significant advantage of voLANte is that a video source can be located anywhere on the network - not just at a video head-end. Video and audio is managed through voLANte transmitters and
receivers that also function as network switches.
