Akuas Dubrovnik celebrated its grand opening this week with great fanfare to open the 2008 season. Akuas operates water-shuttle and island-transfer services with a fleet of seven modern 40-passenger vessels, one 60-passenger vessel and one 4-passenger high speed water taxi offering service from Gruz Port to Old Town Harbour and Elafiti Islands. "Akuas has contracted with numerous cruise lines to provide shuttle service between Gruz Port and Old Town Harbour. "We are working hard with the cruise industry through their local agents to provide this much needed service," explains Nea Krstanovic, Managing Director. "Akuas goal is to help alleviate the terrible congestion and traffic problem here in Dubrovnik."

The comfortable, 30-minute panoramic transfer service gives cruise passengers the unique perspective of viewing the historic walled city from the sea; while the Elafiti transfers provide a convenient service for day visitors and locals to visit the Dubrovnik area. In addition, the company has recently signed an agreement with the operators of the St. Jacob's Beach Club to provide round-trip transfer and shuttle services from the Old City Harbour to the popular beach site.
