Summer Cocktail News Mojitos Go Fruity

A Cuban cousin to the American mint julep, the mojito is the new summer drink of choice for pool-lounging sun worshippers. Why notIt's as thirst-quenching as a lemonade, but with a bit of a rum-infused kick.

Blame it on Ernest Hemingway, who was said to have enjoyed this minty-fresh rum drink while in Cuba. The drink was little known outside of Miami for decades, until a recent explosion made it the "hot drink of the moment" in hip city bars across America.This summer will prove that the traditional recipe is not sacred. While summer sippers enjoy the crisp freshness and 'herbal goodness' of this iced rum drink... they are going bananas over new fruity possibilities, thanks to a natural selection of fruit juices and fruit-flavored rums.

At the pool bar at Orlando's Gaylord Palms Resort (http://www.gaylordpalms.com), the mojito menu has just gotten longer... and fruitier. Visitors can choose from several:

Original Mojito

Tropical Blue Mojito
