Dan Pink to Present Human Capital Institute Webcast on June 27

The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a global professional association and educator in talent management strategies, announced today that Dan Pink, author, journalist, and lecturer, will host an HCI Masters Series webcast on Tuesday June 27, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM ET.



In his presentation, titled A Whole New Mind: Why Right-Brainers Will Rule the Future, Pink will share survey evidence from three continents to explain the new rules of individual achievement and organizational performance. He'sll show why logical, linear, left-brain skills are necessary but no longer sufficient, and why artistic, empathic, right-brain abilities are what determines who flourishes and who flounders.



There are essentially two forces dramatically affecting the workplace today-and the way people will work in the future. One is technology and the other is globalization. Software can automate much of the work lawyers, accountants, and other professionals do. Meanwhile, talented people in Asia can perform white-collar tasks for one-fifth the cost in the U.S. and Europe.



The differentiator in a technologically rich, global economy is creativity, said Allan Schweyer HCI'ss President & Executive Director. In this insightful presentation Dan Pink will elaborate on what creativity entails and how individuals and organizations can tap into it for maximum success.



Pink'ss presentation is based on his most recent book of the same title. A Whole New Mind explores the six essential aptitudes white-collar workers must master in an outsourced, automated world.



Dan Pink is author of Free Agent Nation, a business bestseller in the U.S., Canada, and Japan that is now being used in a variety of undergraduate and MBA programs. Free Agent Nation was named one of the best business books by several major publications in 2001. Tom Peters called it the best book on work since 'sThe Organization Man.'s



Pink is a contributing editor at Wired. His articles and essays have also appeared in Fast Company, The New York Times, Harvard Business Review, Salon, Slate, and other publications. Dan Pink is a free agent himself. The last traditional job he held was nearly 10 years ago when, from 1995 to 1997, he served as chief speechwriter to Vice President Al Gore.
