Rideau and the Recognition Management Institute (http://www.realrecognition.com) (RMI) have been recognized for their dedication to the field of employee recognition during the 2009 Recognition Professionals International (http://www.recognition.org) (RPI) annual conference. The conference was also an opportunity to share their knowledge through seminars, to learn through RPI'ss CRP classes, as well as give back to the association by providing speaker gifts in the form of a donation to Youth Haven (http://www.youthhaven.net), a local emergency shelter.
Rideau'ss honorees included, RMI'ss newest addition, Executive Director Christi Gibson, who was honored for her contributions to RPI where she spent 8 years before joining RMI. Long time
client, friend 's38; partner Steve Richardson, RBC Manager of Recognition Programs, recognized as 2009'ss RPI Recognition Champion for displaying leadership in taking the initiative of
spreading recognition throughout his organization, exhibiting passion and exemplary commitment to employee engagement. Also, Rideau'ss own Jennifer Lumba, VP Strategy and Market
Development, was awarded RPI'ss Spotlight award for her work with RPI and her dedication to spreading employee recognition awareness.
I couldn'st be happier for all my colleagues! Rideau worked hand in hand with Steve and watched his program grow and become the success it is today. I'sve had the honor of working closely
with both Jennifer and Christi as well, and I'sve seen firsthand their dedication, leadership, and the sweat and tears they put into their work, said Peter Hart, Rideau CEO.
Speakers at the conference included Jennifer Lumba, who shared her communication secrets at the conference, as well as last year'ss Spotlight award winner, RMI'ss President 's38; Founder,
Roy Saunderson, who presented a Keynote address entitled, Recognition Reflections: One Person'ss Journey into Recognition.
For every speaker of the event, RMI donated funds to the Youth Haven Emergency Centre under the speaker'ss name. Youth Haven is Collier County'ss only emergency shelter for abused,
abandoned, and neglected children as well as the sole provider of home-based parenting education, crisis intervention, and family support programs that divert children from the foster
care system and keep families together. As a gift, RMI provided each speaker a framed drawing done by a child from Youth Haven'ss emergency centre.
Lisa Massiello, Recognition Professionals International President and Conference Chair, said of the speaker gift, It is so moving to see what started as a simple gesture to thank speakers
for their time turn into something much more meaningful.
Finally, Rideau continued to add to its list of Certified Recognition Professionals (CRP) by having both Lonn Shulkin, VP Sales and Marketing and Patrick Elalouf, CIO, complete their
certifications. Rideau believes it'ss important for all of its employees to not only get a thorough and deep understanding of all recognition concepts but to take every opportunity to
learn and expand their knowledge on the subject throughout their careers to help Rideau continue to deliver clients first class recognition programs.
