BenchMade Announces Its 2005 New Product Line
March 2, 2005 -- Benchmade Knife Company will not disappoint those in attendance or those making their way into stores later this year.
Based upon the 2004 success of the Neil Blackwood designed 630, the new 635 Mini-Skirmish looks to be the most anticipated knife for 2005. Fans of the Benchmade 630 now have the option of the smaller and slimmer 635 for their everyday carry. The robust feel of the 630 carries over to
the 635 along with a slightly different look. This new design gives
the 635 its own character but carries the DNA that makes the Skirmish series so popular.
Benchmade recently brought in Marketing Coordinator Alexandra Whitaker from the retail channel and her initial assessment marks
the 635 along with a few other new knives as must-haves for the New Year. "I predict that our customers will be very excited to see new models like
the 635 and the 707. The 553 and 557 will expand the popular Griptilian line with the addition of a very nicely styled Tanto blade. 2005 will be an exciting year for Benchmade customers."
Material advancements add to what's new for 2005 as well. Benchmade will introduce a newly formulated coating, BK1, for improved corrosion resistance. BK1 (BenchKote) replaces BT2 and exceeds the ASTM-117 specification for saltwater resistance while also increasing blade surface lubricity.
Highlights of What's New for 2005:
- 635 Mini-Skirmish
- 707 Sequel
- 553 Griptilian Tanto 557 & Mini-Griptilian Tanto
- 440 Opportunist
- 425 Gravitator
- 155 Fixed Presidio
