Michigan Gun Owner Invents Revolutionary Gun Lock



Mark Ketterer on almost a daily basis, seemed he was reading in the paper about how a young child or teenager was accidentally killed or injured by a handgun that they found in their home. After looking into the options available to gun owners for securing their firearms, he found that most of the options were very costly or difficult to use. There wasn't a product on the market that solved the problem of: How to lock-up a hand gun in a way that leaves it accessible to the responsible owner in a crisis, and still keep it safe from theft or an innocent child. So Mark began the task of designing and patenting a device that does just that, and the result of his efforts is a product called "The Piece Keeper".

"The Piece Keeper" is a wall-mounted unit, which holds a handgun in a way that makes it easily accessible to the gun owner in a time of need. It also takes the worry out of having your gun stolen by a home invader.

"The Piece Keeper" is molded out of a strong polycarbonate material that does not crack, it is extremely resistant to hammer blows, prying and is re-enforced with a stainless steel backer plate. "The Piece Keeper" is held securely to a stud in the wall with (6) 3 ½ inch long screws that are tougher than the wall itself, and it is not coming off without a fight.

The fact that a thief can't steal it means that those most dearest to you will not have the ability to make a mistake and accidentally harm themselves or someone else. The gun is held in place securely with a locking pin made of case hardened steel. The locking mechanism is a tubular Camlock® with a unique octagon shaped key that can't be duplicated. Each Piece Keeper lock is keyed different and with 5 million key combinations that's HIGH SECURITY.
