Cody, WO October 3, 2008 -- The 25th anniversary year of the only event to see truly fine quality custom firearms is coming in January in Reno. The Firearms Engravers 's38; Gunmakers Exhibition (http://www.acgg.org) will showcase the latest creations of members of the American Custom Gunmakers Guild and the Firearms Engravers Guild of America January 23-24-25, 2009 at the Silver Legacy, Reno, NV. This is an opportunity to not only see the best work on rifles and shotguns in America, but to spend time getting to know the makers and engravers as well.
Special features for this special anniversary year (http://www.fega.com) will include displays by members of the American Bladesmith Society including
well-known knifemakers Al Pendray, Red St. Cyr, Jay Hendrickson, Charlie Ochs and others. These craftsmen of the forged blade will showcase their unique one-of-a-kind knives. Back again
will be members of the Contemporary Longrifle Association including Ron Scott and Jim Chambers. Contemporary muzzleloading and shooting accoutrements fascinate every history and shooting
fan.
A special historical display of custom guns rarely seen will provide a not-to-miss opportunity for all who appreciate fine guns. The focus for this exhibit will be post WWII custom makers
who shaped the trends of modern gunmaking. One of Jack O'sConnor'ss personal .270s will be available to examine. Past winners of the annual Firearms Marketing Group Award of Excellence
and past ACGG firearm raffle projects will make this a truly unique collection of modern work.
Hours for the exhibition are Friday 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Admission is $20/day per person.
