Bradley-Morris, Inc. (BMI), the largest military to civilian placement firm in the U.S., was recently featured in an article in The Virginian-Pilot, a newspaper serving the Norfolk and Hampton Roads areas of Virginia (click here for full article (http://hamptonroads.com/2008/06/service-members-are-demand-private-sector)). The piece is entitled "Service members are in demand in the private sector" and highlights the free job seeker services that exist for transitioning and prior-military.

BMI's Principal and VP of Client Services, Tim Best, was interviewed for the article. When asked to describe the key attributes that civilian employers find in military-experienced candidates, Best said, "They have a mission-accomplishment approach. It's not uncommon for them to spend a day of nonstop work, and very little rest, because they have to get a job done. They have the mentality, 'I don't have to have dinner right now; I need to finish this.'"

One of Bradley-Morris' Norfolk-area clients was also featured in the piece. Describing their interaction with BMI, Melissa Griffin, human resources manager at Electric Motor & Contracting Co., Inc. discussed signing up with the military to civilian firm after Electric Motor's positions became harder to fill, saying: "I gave them the job description, not expecting a whole lot back. Within two days, they sent me a resume. The very first resume, we hired that person."

She went on to describe how working with BMI has made a positive impact for her company, and made her life easier as well, declaring, "I tell them what I need; they do all of the legwork. That's been a huge plus."
