FileTrail Inc., the leading provider of RFID File Tracking Solutions, announced the addition of QuickMaps's8482; mapping to their Records Management products. QuickMaps allows staff to
see where file folders are located on a floorplan of their office.
FileTrail developed the QuickMaps interactive mapping technology in response to customers who revealed that knowing who had the file did not always help.
It is common in large or multi-office firms that staff do not know where everyone sits, said Tom Pemberton, Vice President of Product Strategy for FileTrail. The maps are virtually
real-time when our RFID technology is used for desk-to-desk tracking.
QuickMaps give attorneys and staff instant access to the files they need. The maps show the physical location of a file, while a one-click-email link generates an email to the person
holding the file, allowing a custom message to be entered before sending.
QuickMaps pinpoint the location of a specific file. A popup screen, over the person'ss desk, provides additional information including name, phone number, email address, and a list of
what other files they also have (see inset picture). QuickMaps also works with a list of files - this functions like a graphical picklist, streamlining retrieval and delivery of
files.
The map contains all the popular features found on www.maps.google.com, including dragging, +/- zoom, scroll-zoom, and popups. Unlike Google,
QuickMaps manages multiple maps. Floorplans can be loaded for each floor, and separated by facility. Users are automatically provided with the map or maps that relate to files they seek.
Users can jump instantly between maps simply by clicking on a link.
I didn'st know how much time I spent looking for files, and I can'st believe how much easier my work day is now because of FileTrail, said Stephen P. Paschall, Partner,
Lovett Bookman Harmon Marks, LLP.
More than just RFID and maps, FileTrail'ss browser-based software automates many processes that are commonly manual in law firms including: labeling, requesting, boxing for storage,
ordering from commercial records centers, and more. The solution is extensible to work across multiple offices, integrate with existing systems, and print color coded labels.
We realized the amount of time we spent managing case files was huge, said Lee Reichert, a partner at Kamlet Shepherd & Reichert. FileTrail RFID is cutting that time by 75%.
