While most health insurers annually post double-digit rate increases, Long Island-based MDNY Healthcare is in fact lowering certain rates to make health insurance more affordable. Through
unification of its current HMO product lines and networks, much of its membership will experience a rate reduction this upcoming January.
In addition to lowering rates and unifying product lines, MDNY Healthcare is expanding its current network, adding more than five hundred new physicians in 2006.
"Recent mergers in the industry have significantly reduced employer choice. Though small, MDNY will emerge as the largest remaining independent health insurance company in Nassau and
Suffolk Counties. This January, we will be offering local employers the least expensive HMO option in the area. Choice and affordability are keys to employer and employee satisfaction",
states James Fricchione, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
