Bill Youngerman President Pays 149500 a World Record at the Louis Eliasberg World Gold Coin Auction
April 27, 2005 -- Bill Youngerman, President of William Youngerman, Inc. the South's oldest and largest coin dealer, won the winning bid at the World Coin Auction of the Century: The Louis Eliasberg World Gold Coin Auction. This coin is the only one of only six known to exist that is not locked up in a museum or permanent collection.
Youngerman stated, "World gold coins are finally coming into there own as the free world expands and people look back to their roots for tangible artifacts that have stood the test of time. Objects of such beauty, art, romance, and history can be enjoyed for many generations to come because of numismatist such as Louis Eliasberg. We were there at the sales of his U.S. coins years ago and it was a joy to be able to attend this sale as well."
He went on to say, "This is only the beginning of what I believe is a renewed interest in these kinds of numismatic treasures that will continue to shatter records. Until these rarities begin to bring what they are really worth, they remain one of the most undervalued areas of numismatics in the world."
"Great old world gold rarities are in position today, that's paper currency was before it made its move, rising over 1000% in a few years. That is why my buying for my company has moved over into this field in the last two years with great passion and conviction. I was fortunate enough to obtain many of the great rarities from this sale and will not be in any hurry to sell them either."
William Youngerman, Inc. founded in 1967 is based in Boca Raton, Florida. This and other world gold coins can be found at
