"For the most part, we have seen a fairly strong pick up in the demand for experienced brokers in banks," stated Paul A. Werlin, President, Human Capital Resources, Inc. "And, as we have seen in prior years, it continues to be difficult to attract experienced and successful reps in most markets particularly in smaller cities and towns." Werlin continued, "Compensation for bank brokers has increased for top producers, particularly those generating $400,000 annual gross and above. At the same time, reps producing less than $150,000 gross are seeing their payouts reduced."
   
In the Report, HCR provides insights into several banks' current plans, and the challenges they are now experiencing and those they expect to face in the future. "One of the key finding of the Report," Werlin said, "is that we found a new emphasis on compensation strategies to retain top producers. This contrasts with data from prior years when the focus was more on attracting new reps."
