The All Dulles Area Muslim Society(ADAMS) and Al-Fatih Academy Support and Participate in Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts by collecting donations since Sept 2, 2005 and supporting the
Dulles Area Community Network Katrina Food/Supply Effort.
ADAMS Imam/Executive Director is taking part in National Day of Prayer for Hurricane Victims at the National Cathedral on Friday Sept 16, 2005 at 11am.
American Muslim Relief Groups Pledge $10 Million to help Hurricane Victims and 3000 Houston Muslims Help the Victims at the Astrodome.
WHAT: The All Dulles Area Muslim Society(ADAMS) and Al-Fatih Academy support the Dulles Area Community Networking Effort(http://www.dullesareacommunity.net/) to collect food and supplies and take it down to affected areas in Louisiana to help evacuees. The ADAMS Center(46903 Sugarland Road, Sterling, VA 20164) is a drop off location for canned food, dry food, and supplies. Also, Tax Deductible donations for the Dulles Area Networking Relief Effort can be written payable to ADAMS. The coordination is occurring at the Former Herndon Police Station. In addition, Al-Faith Academy Students collected and helped sort supplies at the Herndon Police Station at 11am on Friday Sept 16, 2005.
Since Fri Sept 2, The ADAMS Community and Youth Groups have been collecting donations at our Friday Prayers in Sterling, Reston, Fairfax, Leesburg, and Tysons Corner for Hurricane Victims/Evacuees and donating to the Hurricane Katrina efforts of Islamic Relief(http://www.irw.org/katrina/), American Red Cross(www.redcross.org/), Islamic Center of Baton Rouge, National Council On Islamic Scouting, and Dulles Area Networking. The ADAMS Community is supporting a Hurricane Relief Picnic at Lake Fairfax Park on Sept 17 and the ADAMS Sisters Youth Group is planning a fundraiser in October. The ADAMS Community and Al-Fatih Academy understand that it will take A long term and consistent efforts to help our fellow Citizens in the Gulf Coast recover and rebuild. In addition, the American Muslim Relief Groups have pledged $10 Million in donations to help all victims of the hurricane. Also, 3000 volunteers from the Muslim Community of Houston Provided relief efforts to the victims at the Astrodome.
