First Chanukah at Universal Studios

First time in the history of Universal Studios in Orlando, thousands of Jews met to celebrate the first day of the Grand Menorah lighting of Chanukah and a live concert of Yehudah Glantz and Gad Elbaz. Yehuda Glantz, a Hebrew Argentinean, delighted the public with his Sephardim and Hebrew world music while Gad Elbaz brought his modern rock type Jewish music.



Gad Elbaz is another Orthodox singer whose cool sound, stage swagger and good looks have won him legions of young fans.



During years Chabad of Orlando has been in front of the organization to offer to the Jewish community and the public the celebration of Chanukah in Orlando. I still remember years ago when it was on "Church Street Orlando" and Rabbi Dubov suggested we need to change the name of the street to "Shul Street".



This time not only Chabad Orlando, but also Chabad of Florida, the Jewish Community Center, JCC, the Hebrew School and the Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando jointed forces to organize two days of Chanukah celebration. The first night at Universal Studio and the 5th night, Thursday, at Central Park on Park Avenue in Winter Park.



Chanukah on the Park brought Live Music, Chocolate Chanukah Gelt providing entertainment from the JCC Pre-School and the Chassidic Dancers.
