Shane Hankins has Been Named Executive Director of Road of Life



Prior to joining Road of Life, Shane served as Director of Programs for the Economic and Community Development Institute, a state-wide nonprofit based in Columbus, Ohio. He received his B.A., summa cum laude, with distinction from The Ohio State University. He brings rich experience in nonprofit management and fundraising to Road of Life. At the Economic and Community Development Institute, he managed 10 full time staff dedicated to asset building and special programs at agency and as Director of Development for the same organization, he raised $15,437,404 in grant and contract funding.

Former Executive Director Matt Youngner is extremely pleased to have someone of Hankins's8217; caliber join Road of Life. 's8220;Shane is the ideal person to help Road of Life transition from a local organization to a state and national organization. He will be able to generate revenue from sources Road of Life has not utilized in the past,'s8221; Youngner says.

Hankins is looking forward to coming on board at Road of Life. Hankins says he was attracted to the position of Executive Director for personal and professional reasons. 's8220;One of my best friends died of Leukemia, and I have always wanted to honor his memory. Taking on this position is one way I can do so. Before working at the Economic and Community Development Institute, Hankins served as a real estate development assistant at the Concorde Capital Corporation, where he helped to implement over $225 million in real estate development projects; and as a program manager at Northside Community Development Corporation, where he provided direct client services related to housing, asset building, fundraising and grant writing. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and serves on the board of the Columbus Service Alliance.
