SelfRegulation Conference to Make Nine Stops Across US

"If your body is like a car engine, sometimes it runs on high, sometimes it runs on low, and sometimes it runs just right." When therapists, teachers, or parents use these simple words to begin the Alert Program, they enter an exciting adventure with children.

The journey to self-regulation will unfold in nine US cities as founders Sherry Shellenberger and Mary Sue Williams, occupational therapists, present this practical, step-by-step program to therapists, teachers and parents.

2009 marks the 17th year the program has been presented, with over 250 conferences and 20,000+ attendees across the US, along with presentations in Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland, Whales, The Netherlands, Finland, Singapore, and Australia. Be a part of the ever- growing group of parents, teachers, and therapists who are learning how to support children's attention and behavior.

About the Speakers

Mary Sue Williams and Sherry Shellenberger have over 25 years of experience working with and learning from a variety of children, parents, and teachers in urban and rural school districts as well as clinic, home, and camp settings. They have focused on developing practical ways to teach people of all ages how to incorporate sensory integration theory into every day living. For the past two decades, they have developed, refined, and kid-tested the Alert Program. One of the authors' greatest joys is watching children find the answers to the question, "How Does Your Engine Run"
