Satellite Sports is a new facility dedicated to FUTSAL, the true indoor game of soccer.
FUTSAL players will no longer have to play on wooden gym floors, the common alternative utilized for FUTSAL.
In conjunction with the North Jersey FUTSAL League (NJFL), Satellite Sports offers FUTSAL players the opportunity to play on official United States Futsal Federation (USFF) sanctioned
court surfaces. The surface is called Indoor BounceBack, and is made by SnapSports, Inc.
FUTSAL is about developing players. Simply, it is the way the world plays indoor soccer. We are excited to bring FUTSAL leagues and tournaments to Northern New Jersey. This is an
opportunity to have a top quiality facility for soccer development that has not previously been offered in the state, according to Al Moran, President North Jersey FUTSAL League.
With the support of the Totowa Soccer Club, youth and adult FUTSAL players in the Tri-State area finally have their own place to play.
The kids have a good time and they love playing FUTSAL, said Dave Handal, Totowa Soccer Commissioner, who said the Totowa Soccer Club participants in the past winter season have shown
tremendous progress in their skill levels.
The FUTSAL courts are available for open-play, served as the home of the NJFL youth and adult leagues since January 2009, as well as tournaments. The NJFL is the only league in North
Jersey endorsed by the USFF. Teams or individuals will also be able to reserve courts for private use.
A five-a-side version of soccer played indoors, FUTSAL, uses a smaller-heavier ball, and no walls like other forms of indoor soccer. It is the only form of indoor soccer approved by FIFA
(F's233;d's233;ration Internationale de Football Association), the world'ss governing soccer body.
Imagine yourself in the outdoor game after playing soccer with a fast moving medicine ball in a smaller space. A regular soccer ball eventually becomes much easier to manage and master
after playing FUTSAL. It is all about improving a player'ss touch on-the-ball, according to Al Moran.
