West Branch Area School District Chooses Pearsons PowerSchoolPremier...



Pearson (www.pearson.com), the global leader in education and education technology, announced today that West Branch Area School District in Morrisdale, Penn., has selected PowerSchool Premier (http://www.pearsonschoolsystems.com/products/powerschool/) as its student information system (SIS).





According to West Branch'ss Technology Administrator, Jeremy Craven, the District chose Pearson'ss PowerSchool Premier over other available products because they needed a more intuitive interface that would make state reporting easier.



(PowerSchool Premier) is very compatible with Pennsylvania reports and has a great interface, said Craven. We are very excited to get on board with PowerSchool and get everyone on the same page this will be a great improvement (for West Branch).



PowerSchool Premier will provide West Branch with a single, centralized solution which includes an integrated gradebook, giving teachers more time to focus on student needs. In addition, Pearson'ss web-based system--available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week--will simplify the District'ss data management, making state reporting and scheduling faster and easier.



PowerSchool Premier was selected because of Pearson'ss reputation, their ability to offer 24/7 technical service, and their willingness to customize, said Sandra Craft, Superintendent of West Branch Area School District. Pearson is a large company with trained staff and the resources to accommodate small districts.



PowerSchool Premier will serve as the information backbone for West Branch'ss approximately 1,250 students and 85 teachers. Through its robust set of communications tools, PowerSchool will provide access to secure, real-time student information through a web browser--effectively creating an interactive dialogue between parents, students, and teachers. Additional benefits, such as master scheduling and reporting capabilities, will lend substantial efficiencies to the district.
