Today, EADS, through subsidiary PlantCML (http://www.plantcml-eads.com)'s174;, announced that it has been awarded a contract to expand the CORP25 (http://www.plantcml-eads.com/solutions-products/public-safety/land-mobile-radio) digital, trunked land mobile radio system in Cumberland County (http://www.tennesseeanytime.org/local/cumberland.html), Tennessee. The expansion, which will take place in the third quarter of this year, will include the installation of a new Zetron (http://www.zetron.com/data/site/templates/splash.asp) Acom " Advanced Communication Console System " as well as the addition of 25 P25 subscriber units.
"Cumberland County is very important to us. When the original system acceptance took place in July of last year, we committed to continue working with the county to jointly evaluate new products and features for the network," said Chuck Sackley, Vice President and General Manager, Land Mobile Radio. The deployment of the Zetron Acom digital console, along with the additional subscriber units, will further enhance the ability of first responders to protect the citizens and property of Cumberland County.
CORP25 provides an open, standards-compliant digital, trunked radio system with interoperability to existing conventional VHF radio networks. The P25 network provides expanded and coordinated communications for its users, which include the sheriffs department, two fire departments, the rescue squad, local correctional facility, emergency medical services and emergency management.
PlantCML has continued to demonstrate its commitment to the success of the P25 network in Cumberland County, said Brock Hill, Mayor of Cumberland County. We look forward to continuing to work with PlantCML to enhance mission-critical communications in the County.
Acom is a fully digital switching and multiplexing system that represents state-of-the-art in console dispatch technology for mission-critical applications, said Ellen OHara, President and CEO of Zetron. We will continue to work with PlantCML to provide Cumberland County, and other customers, with the latest radio dispatch solutions.
The E-911 Call Center is excited to have this opportunity to work with Zetron on the deployment of the Acom console, said Bill Hunter, E-911 Director. We appreciate the commitment Zetron and PlantCML have displayed to advancing public safety in the District.
As an IP-based, open-standards (APCO P25) digital trunked solution, CORP25 allows P25 and non-P25 radios to operate together on one core architecture, providing operators full autonomy and control over the radio network.
