Crime Stoppers USA'ss 350-member programs, in partnership with Crime Stoppers International (CSI), announce their collaboration in the first ever worldwide manhunt for violent fugitives. Operation I.N.F.R.A. (International Fugitive Round Up and Arrest), supported by The U.S. Marshal Service, INTERPOL and other law enforcement agencies around the globe, is the first global initiative led by Crime Stoppers International.
Crime Stoppers USA, a member of the CSI worldwide network, announces its full support for Operation INFRA. This initiative will help identify and capture fugitives wanted both
domestically and internationally.
Sixty five of those dangerous fugitives are believed to be hiding in the United States and can be viewed by going to Crime Stoppers USA (www.CrimeStoppersUSA.com) and clicking the International Fugitive Roundup link at the top of the home page. Each of these fugitives is believed to
have fled their home country and could be hiding in any local community in the United States.
Crime Stoppers International has created a crime fighting resource which allows for every person in the world to have the ability to provide information to law enforcement agencies
without being identified, said Martin Renkewitz, Director of United States National Central Bureau of Interpol. By all countries working together to publicize these criminals we are
making every community a safer place to live. All it takes is one person to recognize one of these fugitives, provide the location to Crime Stoppers anonymously, and law enforcement will
do the rest.
Crime Stoppers plays a vital role in providing information which aids in the apprehension of criminals across the country, stated Director John F. Clark of the U. S. Marshals Service.
This international campaign is innovative and timely, we will support their efforts to the best of our ability.
This is truly an international initiative, says Tom Kern, Chairman of Crime Stoppers USA. Fugitives hide across the globe in all cities large and small looking to escape justice and
commit new crime in our communities. The international campaign 'sOperation INFRA's supports a positive and proactive approach toward fugitive capture. By empowering citizens to
anonymously report the whereabouts of these fugitives, we enable anyone to safely assist in removing a potentially dangerous criminal from their community.
Since 1976, local Crime Stoppers programs in the United States have taken millions of anonymous calls and forwarded that information on to federal, state, and local law enforcement
agencies. Investigators have used the anonymous information to make nearly 500,000 felony arrests and recover over $4 billion in cash, illegal drugs, and stolen property. Now Crime
Stoppers USA is asking all Americans to be on the lookout for these fugitives wanted for violent crimes: including murder, rape, kidnapping and crimes against children who may be hiding
in the United States. Here is one example of the caliber of criminal we'sre talking about:
