Northern Brings Quota Functionality to HP Scalable NAS Portfolio



Northern, a leading provider of storage resource management software, today announced that Northern Storage Suite is now fully compatible with HP Scalable NAS File Serving for Windows allowing for comprehensive management of unstructured data.



As a gold member of the HP Information Management and Software Partner Program, Northern worked closely with HP to validate Northern Storage Suite with HP PolyServe Software for Scalable File Serving and HP Scalable NAS File Serving for Windows, facilitating more efficient NAS administration. Comprehensive quota functionality is a business imperative on any storage platform, and with Northern Storage Suite'ss integration with HP Scalable NAS, customers can now get control of their user-generated data.



HP Scalable NAS delivers highly available, fault-tolerant network-attached storage. Northern Storage Suite allows for management of unstructured data, providing flexible, granular and scalable storage management within a non-intrusive, low impact architecture. HP Scalable NAS customers get award-winning disk quotas, comprehensive reporting, an end-user portal and out-of-the-box storage chargeback. Administrators now have a centralized means of identifying and reclaiming wasted capacity, controlling user behavior and maximizing their existing storage infrastructure.



Today'ss announcement is the fruit of several months of co-development with the HP StorageWorks NAS team, providing customers with an efficient, cost-effective means of managing their unstructured data. Northern Storage Suite also integrates with HP StorageWorks DAS, allowing for blocking, specific file types, and user-based quotas.
