CHP Officers and Deputies Will Be Cracking Down on Drunk Driving
As Labor Day approaches, Deputies and CHP Officers in San Diego and San Bernardino Counties say they plan to get tough on drunk drivers. The California Highway Patrol also announced on Monday that they will double their traffic safety endeavors
over the Labor Day holiday weekend. The announcement may have something to do with the 18 people that died on California roadways over a 24 hour period
over the recent Fourth of July weekend.
This crackdown is evident by the 14 arrests and 96 citations that were issued at a sobriety checkpoint last Saturday night on Mariposa Road in Victorville. The checkpoint was conducted by a task force including all 25 law enforcement agencies in San Bernardino County.
