In addition to dangers such as violence, suicide, unwanted pregnancies, and academic failure, underage drinking contributes to a lack of judgment, especially when it comes to driving. Young drivers have limited experience behind the wheel, and coupled with alcohol, these factors most often result in severe and potentially fatal traffic accidents.
To help young people make a difference and express their feelings about underage drinking , the law offices of Crumley & Associates, the Crib to College Foundation, and My PSA Contest have teamed up to host a video public service announcement (PSA) contest for local high school students. Students have been asked to produce 30-second video PSAs discussing their feelings and thoughts regarding the dangers of underage drinking . The contest is designed to promote awareness regarding this topic, while allowing students to express themselves in creative manners.
"Our hope is to continue providing education about the dangers of underage drinking ," said Bob Crumley, chief executive officer of Crumley & Associates. "The professionals at our organization hope to increase students' knowledge and understanding of the severity of this topic."
The PSAs will be judged on students' abilities to analyze and discuss the topic and produce a quality video. The creator of the winning PSA will receive a laptop computer; the school where the student attends will receive a donation; and the winning PSA will be aired on local television during the upcoming holiday season, Crumley & Associates' Web site (
