ProDiscover Release 5.0 Adds Email and Enhanced Industry Compatibility



Technology Pathways, LLC, a leading provider of incident response and computer forensics solutions for the corporate IT, government and legal communities, today announced that it began shipping ProDiscover Release 5.0, with full e-mail support for Microsoft .pst /.ost, and .dbx type e-mail files.

"For the first time, forensic examiners can view live e-mail in a simulated native environment," said Christopher Brown, CTO of Technology Pathways. "This makes it much easier for examiners to find the evidence of interest in e-mails, one of the most important areas for forensic examiners."

In addition, ProDiscover Release 5.0 keeps the e-mail message together with any attachments to the message. This makes it even easier for the forensic examiner to follow the investigative trail as much forensic evidence is contained in the attachments.

"This implementation of a forensic e-mail viewer is a significant breakthrough in its intuitiveness and is the easiest to use that I have seen," states Dave McCain, a forensic specialist for the Huntington Beach Police Department.

ProDiscover Release 5.0 also brings new industry compatibility with full support for Microsoft Vista operating system and support for reading industry standard "expert witness format" image files (E01). These enhancements signal the continued commitment by Technology Pathways to support compatibility and industry standards.
