Cox Smith Matthews Taps Veteran Litigator to Lead New Dallas Office
Cox Smith Matthews Incorporated, the largest business and business litigation law firm based in San Antonio and the South Texas region, today announced that David Bryant has joined the firm as a shareholder in its new Dallas office.

David has extensive experience in bankruptcy-related litigation, securities and corporate governance matters, technology and real estate litigation, and all areas of business dispute practice. He has successfully prosecuted and defended many high profile cases throughout the country. David served as General Counsel for Perot Systems Corporation, and represented Ross Perot in connection with numerous litigation and non-litigation matters.
David served in 2005 as lead counsel for a post-confirmation bankruptcy trustee in extensive litigation relating to the agriculture industry in Las Vegas, and as lead counsel for a post-confirmation bankruptcy trustee in major litigation in Mississippi arising out of a failed merger in the marine and offshore equipment construction industry.
Bryant's expertise complements the firm's long-established and respected bankruptcy practice. Bryant will work closely with shareholder Deborah Williamson, head of Cox Smith Matthews' Creditors' Rights, Corporate Restructuring and Bankruptcy Department. Williamson has extensive experience advising clients on bankruptcy and creditors' rights. Her expertise in general bankruptcy combined with Bryant's experience in commercial and bankruptcy litigation will provide unparalleled knowledge and experience to clients involved in bankruptcy litigation matters.
Prior to joining Cox Smith Matthews, Bryant was a partner in Diamond McCarthy Taylor Finley Bryant & Lee, LLP, a boutique law firm specializing in business litigation and insolvency-related matters. Prior to joining Diamond McCarthy, he was a partner at Hughes & Luce, LLP, where he once served as Managing Partner.
Bryant obtained his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1975. He served as an officer of the Harvard Law Review and as a clerk for Judge Homer Thornberry on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He is a member of the American Law Institute, a trustee of Austin College, and a member of the State Bar in Texas and California.
