The Clark County Bar Association (CCBA) and Clark County Legal Services (CCLS) will host a benefit luncheon for Clark County Legal Services on Thursday, December 8, 2005 from 12:00 p.m.
to 1:30 p.m. in the Renaissance Ballroom at the Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel at 3400 Paradise Road in Las Vegas. This fundraiser will honor those attorneys who together over the past year
have provided more than 9,350 hours of free legal services for low income Nevadans in Clark County.
This special event will feature Nevada Supreme Court Chief Justice Nancy Becker as Master of Ceremonies. Justice Becker will be joined by many prominent Nevadans featured as speakers and
award presenters, including: Nevada Supreme Court Justices Michael Douglas, James Hardesty, Ron Parraguirre and Robert Rose; Senior U.S. District Court Judge Lloyd George; U.S. Bankruptcy
Court Judge Linda Riegle; Eighth Judicial District Court Judges Sally Loehrer and Elizabeth Goff Gonzalez; State Bar of Nevada President Vince Consul; CCBA President Bryan Scott; CCLS
President Dean Hardy; State Senator Valerie Weiner; County Commissioner Myrna Williams; Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman; Nevada Legal Services Executive Director Wayne Pressel and Barbara
Buckley, CCLS Executive Director and Majority Leader of the Nevada State Assembly.
The awards will include categories that honor the various works of individual attorneys, as well as those of small, medium and large law firms during the past year. Additionally, CCLS
will recognize several attorneys who have donated up to 200 hours of legal services during 2005. As a present is delivered wrapped bringing anticipation to the recipient, the names of the
award winners will not be released prior to the event.
