Silhouette (http://www.guardianapps.com), an enterprise class data scrambling tool created for Oracle Human Resources and Payroll Applications,
is now available for Oracle Payables and Oracle Receivables. Silhouette now protects sensitive financial information, such as bank account numbers and credit card data, from unauthorized
access in all non-production databases. Internal audits have discovered that once the production data is cloned to create new environments it leaves the company at risk of a security
breach. Many corporations' Governance Risk and Compliance programs mandate protection of this confidential data as it helps to adhere to PCI, GLBA, and other data privacy regulations.
Silhouette utilizes a unique method to protect sensitive data. Using Oracle's metadata and built-in functions, Silhouette conceals the Payables and Receivables private data. Silhouette
identifies 50-plus sensitive fields recommended for scrambling in the AP and AR modules. These fields are designated as defaults in the application allowing out of the box scrambling
execution. In addition, Silhouette is configurable and allows the user to tailor the scramble to the needs of their company without coding.
Most importantly, Silhouette can ensure that referential integrity of the data is maintained throughout the application after the scrambling process. Lastly, in order to supply
information for future decision making, a summary is provided containing statistics and error reports so users can double check the process.
Guardian Applications (http://www.guardianapps.com) Created Silhouette in their Dedication to Safeguarding Data
Guardian Applications formed in July 2005, Minneapolis, MN, created Silhouette in response to not only the increased occurrence of internal security breaches, but also due to the recent
notification legislation in over 39 states. Guardian Application has taken on this security initiative to protect customer, employee and vendor confidential data in the Oracle E-Business
Suite from internal data loss, because Privacy Matters.
