eMerges.com Inc. Announces new Application Beat a United States Postal Service Application in Accuracy Comparison Test

e-Merges.com Inc. (http://www.e-Merges.com/) has announced that its new Congressional District Identifier Application beat a United States Postal Service Application in a side by side accuracy comparison test.

Currently when a citizen calls their State or Federal Government and asks to speak to their elected official, the government switchboard operator refers to a US Postal Service look up table based on address zip codes. The application takes addresses based on zip codes and outputs the respective elected officials. But e-Merges has now demonstrated that the Postal Service solution is flawed and actually routes people to the wrong elected officials.

According to e-Merges.com President Shawn Harmon: The problem is that every citizen -- not just the political savvy -- want to participate in the political process, the USPS zip code solution does not help ensure this fundamental right.

e-Merges newly released Maryland Voter Study has proved that the USPS database was wrong over 36,882 times when compared to the actual State of Maryland registered voter file. The e-Merges study proved that 169 extended zip codes gave the wrong congressional district. Most of the errors on the USPS file occurred in the heavily urban Baltimore districts which disproportionately affected minorities.

According to Harmon: We think the error rate will be even higher when we test places like New York City. Elected officials are effectively shutting potential supporters out of the political process. Using the USPS system insures that even franked mail will not get to all the right people. The e-Merges application has demonstrated enhanced proprietary technologies which surpass the accuracy of the Postal Service zip code based system.

e-Merges supplies the new application to government agencies, non-profits and even corporations.
