Teitleman said that his desire to run for the Legislative seat that covers Matthews, Mint Hill, and parts of East Charlotte began while working as a legislative aide in the House chamber between 2005 and 2007. Mr. Teitleman stated that some of the major issues during this campaign and upcoming legislative session need to be roads, congestion, public safety, and senior citizens concerns, as well as responsiveness of elected officials to their constituents.
Teitleman stated that explosive growth of the area has contributed to the need for the NC House District 103 Representative to be a more effective and responsive leader. The seat has a two year term, which will begin January of 2009 and end December 2010. Mr. Teitleman has been encouraged by many officials and civically active individuals to run this year citing the need for an energetic and vibrant Representative to go to Raleigh and work on behalf of the entire district and state.
Alan Teitleman resides in Mint Hill and has served on the board of directors for Kids Voting-Mecklenburg, on the City of Charlotte's Neighborhood Matching Grants Review Team, and on the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council, appointed by the County Commission. He is a charter member of the Chamber of Commerce and most recently served as campaign chairman for the Mecklenburg County Republican Party.
The primary election will be held May 6, 2008. For more information, please visit:
