Verrill Dana Attorney Steve Rowe Enters 2010 Race for MaineGovernor



Verrill Dana (www.verrilldana.com) Attorney Steve Rowe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G._Steven_Rowe) took the first step toward a run for Maine Governor by officially filing paperwork as a Democratic nominee with the Maine Commission on Governmental Ethics and Election Practices on Tuesday, June 9th. Rowe took the legally required step of registering as a candidate for the office of Governor in order to prepare and launch a campaign. A formal announcement and kick-off will be held at a later date.



Today I have taken the first step in organizing a campaign for Governor, said Rowe in an official statement. Our challenges are great, but our opportunities are greater. Working together, we can unleash the potential of Maine people and our state'ss economy. Over the coming months, I'sll be sharing my plans and listening to the hopes and concerns of people across the state.



Rowe recently launched the website www.RoweforGovernor.com, where people can learn more about the candidate and sign up to be part of his campaign.



Steve will continue his position with Verrill Dana as Counsel in the firm'ss Litigation 's38; Trial Department. Rowe Joined Verrill Dana in February after serving eight years as Maine'ss Attorney General. Prior to that, Rowe served as Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives, and as chair of various legislative committees including Natural Resources and Business and Economic Development.



Steve Rowe is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He earned his MBA from the University of Utah and his law degree from the University of Maine. Before entering government, Rowe worked in both the legal and business departments of UNUM.
