Recognized by the Florida Department of Environmental Services as a Florida Green Lodging Property and awarded with the "One Palm Certification", this luxury resort is taking huge leaps in the direction of environmental consciousness. Having undergone a $50 million renovation, Saddlebrook has devoted significant resources to improving environmental efficiencies across the board. -    Laundry Treatment Facility: The new laundry service at Saddlebrook features biodegradable detergents and high temperatures without the use of harmful chlorine bleach.

-    Guest Room Linens: By providing guests with a customized linen laundry service, guests choose whether or not they'd like their linens changed. This prevents the waste of water in unnecessary washing.

-    Active Climate Control: Each room at Saddlebrook is individually computer-controlled to cool only the rooms that need it at exactly the right levels. Similarly, when guest rooms are not being occupied, thermostats are turned down to a setting that keeps the room fresh, but does not cool excessively and unnecessarily.

-    Electric Carts: While many properties choose gas powered carts for guest room transportation, maintenance and golf course use, Saddlebrook has elected to use carts with rechargeable electric batteries. This results in less air pollution but also less noise pollution for the benefit of resort guests.
