80 Foot Luxury Schooner Sets Sail at Cabo Resort



Marquis Los Cabos Beach, Golf, Spa and Casitas Resort in Mexico offers guests romance and adventure on the high seas with its new 80-foot Turkish schooner, sailing the Sea of Cortez. The latest addition to Marquis's arsenal of luxury experiences, the Novia Mia (aptly called My Girlfriend) debuted this month at the Marina of San Lucas. The air-conditioned Novia Mia, managed by local company Barcos que Cantan and operated by Marquis Los Cabos, houses six comfortable cabins with bathroom; one kitchen; two dining rooms for indoor and outdoor dining; sun deck and TV with DVD player.



Built in 2005, the schooner can accommodate 8 overnight guests and 35 passengers for day excursions and has a crew of four. Guests can extend their unique Marquis Los Cabos experience from land onto the sea with butler service and signature cuisine from the resort'ss Michelin star and Maitre Cuisinier de France chef. Four exclusive packages are currently available with the schooner - the Snorkel Tour, Sunset Tour, Private Tour and Wedding Package. Guests do not need to stay at Marquis Los Cabos in order to experience signature Marquis service in an intimate environment aboard the Novia Mia. The Snorkel Tour is three hours of snorkeling adventure from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. The tour includes snorkel and fishing equipment, kayaks, towels, refreshments including domestic open bar and gourmet snacks. Marquis butler and Michelin-star chef are included. A light lunch menu includes Marquis appetizers such as Ceviche Yucatan Style, Shrimp Sushi, Oysters, Clams, Prosciutto & Provolone Sandwiches and Haagen Dazs ice cream for dessert. Rates are $120 USD per person plus tax and service charge.



The Sunset Tour is three hours of spectacular sunset-viewing and evening snorkeling from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. The tour includes snorkel and fishing equipment, kayaks, towels, refreshments including domestic open bar and gourmet snacks. Marquis butler and Michelin-star chef are included. The evening fare includes Marquis appetizers such as Salmon Sashimi, Fruit Brochette, Lobster Frittatas, Beef Turnovers with Fried Bananas and Chile Poblano and Mini French Cakes for dessert. Rates are $200 USD per person plus tax and service charge.



The Private Tour is four hours of seclusion and water sport activities like snorkeling, fishing and kayaking. The tour includes snorkel and fishing equipment, kayaks, towels and refreshments including international open bar. Marquis butler and Michelin-star chef included. The chef will customize an elaborate menu from signature restaurant selections at Vista Ballenas and Canto del Mar. The rate to rent the entire boat is $3,500 USD plus tax and service charge.



The Wedding Package combines 24 hours of wedded bliss on the high seas with water activities and brunch for guests. The bride and groom can host 8 overnight guests and 35 day guests on the schooner. The wedding ceremony can be performed in the afternoon aboard the Novia Mia. Afterwards, the boat will travel through the Sea of Cortez overnight and arrive near the shoreline in the morning. Brunch by our Marquis chef will be served. Arrival at the Marina of San Lucas is set for 2:00 PM - 3:00 P.M. The Wedding Package includes boat rental for 24 hours; fishing, snorkel and kayak equipment; international open bar; gourmet snacks; Marquis butler, waiters and service employees to assist all wedding guests; and Marquis Maitre Cuisinier de France and Michelin star chef to handle the next morning'ss brunch. The rate for the Wedding Package is $9,500 USD plus tax and service charge. The wedding ceremony, reception dinner and décor are additional.



Transportation to and from Marina of San Lucas is additional for all packages. Reservations must be made with 24 hours notice. Cancellations and no shows will be charged in full 24 hours prior to guests's arrival. One or multiple night rentals are available upon request.
