Author Vocalist Zara Phillips to Speak to CHATS

Zara Phillips, author of Chasing Away The Shadows: An Adoptee'ss Journey To Motherhood will be speaking to CHATS, (Connected Hearts Adoption Triad Support) on Monday January 22, 2007 at 7:15pm. The free lecture will be held at Watchung Avenue Presbyterian Church, 170 Watchung Avenue in North Plainfield, NJ.



Alyce Jenkins, facilitator of CHATS, says, As an adoptive mother who observed without understanding my own daughter'ss journey from adoption to adulthood and motherhood, I found very helpful Zara'ss honesty and frankness in Chasing Away The Shadows: An Adoptee'ss Journey To Motherhood. Her presentation on January 22nd will provide an outstanding, enlightening meeting for anyone whose life has been impacted by adoption and for interested others. We'sre also delighted that she'sll share her musical talent with us as well as autograph her book and CD'ss.



Adoption is a hot button issue, and everyone has an opinion. There have been many books detailing the adoption process, yet no one has addressed the journey of an adoptee, from pregnancy to motherhood, and the impact that this most natural of events can have on an adoptee and her children. In her book, Chasing Away The Shadows: An Adoptee'ss Journey To Motherhood (Gateway Press) draws on Phillips experience, pain, joy and ultimate reconciliation of her past, present and future.
