ResortQuest Steamboat Vacation Rentals Uses Ecofriendly Tissue Products...



Cascade North River products are processed without the use of chlorine; in fact Cascade is the only producer of tissue paper products to comply with the stringent requirements of the SMMI (Sustainable Manufacturing 's38; Marketing Initiative) guidelines and to have PCF certification (Processed Chlorine Free).





Cascade Tissue Group contributes to the preservation of 47 million trees every year and recycles more than 2.7 million metric tons of used paper and paperboard annually. Nearly 100% of Cascade'ss products are made from recycled fibers. The company also practices what it preaches by maintaining environmentally conscientious manufacturing facilities.



ResortQuest made the transition to use the Cascade Tissue Group'ss North River products as part of their commitment to the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association Sustainable Business Certification program. In November 2008, ResortQuest Steamboat was awarded Gold Certification (http://steamboatvacationrentals.blogspot.com/2008/11/resortquest-certified-gold-in-steamboat.html) status in the Chamber'ss Sustainable Business Program.



The Sustainable Business Certification requires that a business demonstrate a reduction in energy usage, a plan to reduce, recycle and reuse as much of their waste stream as is feasible, and to put in place water conservation practices. Additionally, a comprehensive analysis of policies, practices and purchasing habits is undertaken so that improvements can be identified.



Other sustainable green initiatives (http://www.resortqueststeamboat.com/green/) being implemented by ResortQuest Steamboat include a comprehensive guest recycling program. Each of ResortQuest'ss 300+ vacation rentals will have recycling receptacles which will be collected daily by a special Green Team (http://www.resortqueststeamboat.com/housekeeping/). Paper, paperboard, plastics 1-7, glass, tin, and aluminum will all be stored and collected separately from non-recyclable trash in containers and recycling centers provided by the company.



ResortQuest Steamboat is trialing paper Green-KeyTM electronic keys which are made of renewable resources and are recyclable. Also in the line-up of green initiatives are Thymes Eucalyptus recyclable paper bottles for individual in-room shampoo, conditioner and lotion. They take the place of a multitude of small plastic bottles which generated a great deal of non-recyclable waste. Guest information on sustainable practices is included in the check-in package, and guests are welcomed to their vacation home with a delectable gift of chocolate confectionary created by Yepello Chocolates 's38; Confections, hand-made in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
